about

Singer, Songwriter, Co-producer, and Recording Artist Traci Tota presents her newest release entitled “CHAPTERS” which represents a compilation of several works she has written and performed vocally during the chapters in her life of music.

Chapter 1 – THE BEGINNING: includes “Don’t Let Me Down” Traci’s first recorded song; written by Willis Wilson and Traci Tota, produced by Bobby Orlando. Originally released on the CBS Associated label in 1986 under our then group name Contact.
Chapter 2 - LOVE: includes “All of My Heart” written and produced by Willis Wilson and Traci Tota, additional vocals by Timothy Smallwood who joins Traci on this classic tune originally released on the Profile Records label in 1990 under our group name of Az One. Timothy Smallwood also joins Traci vocally on “In My Dreams” a smooth heartfelt ballad. Additional tracks “Gave All My Love” and “In The Morning” both also written by Willis Wilson and Traci Tota join this chapter along with “Never Again” a soulful track written and produced by Jon Evans.
Chapter 3 – JAZZ: includes Traci's rendition of classic jazz treasures such as Billie Holiday’s “Good Morning Heartache” and "God Bless the Child". Another jazz favorite “Misty” is included in this chapter. Traci’s cover of these three phenomenal jazz tunes display Traci’s versatile interpretation of these true classics.
Chapter 4 – DANCE: includes “Reach (and Lift Somebody Up)”, “Reach (and Lift Somebody Up – Club version”, and “Don’t Stop The Music (Club Mix)”. These three songs all written and produced by Willis Wilson and Traci Tota in their earlier days display Traci’s love to dance and desire to share an uplifting message.
Chapter 5 – R&B : includes “Gonna Make A Change” written by Willis Wilson & Traci Tota, originally From Willis’ CD entitled "Revelations" produced by Willis Wilson. Brings a powerful call for Change. This chapter also includes R&B / Pop track entitled “Keep It Together” a smooth sincere call for peace, for all of us to Keep It Together.
Chapter 6 – MESSAGE : includes “Gonna Make A Change for Peace” with a piercing message captured that reflects not only the time it was recorded in but the status of the world today. “Don’t Stop The Music” an additional version of this song joins the smooth beats of Heritage OP African Drum Rhythms mixed with traditional R&B styles - truly Electrifying!
“Bettah Day” and “Bettah Day (Remix)” close this chapter and describes what our world would be in a Bettah Day. All songs written and produced by Willis Wilson and Traci Tota.
Chapter 7 – REMAKE : includes Traci’s all time favorite “I’ll Take You There” a cover of the soulful Staple Singers hit. Traci’s rendition gives homage to the incomparable Mavis Staples. Lyrics and passion in this song still ring true today.
